Abstract
In this paper elliptical antenna array synthesis has been proposed using the modified array factor with the objective of suppressing the side lobe level (SLL) with beam width (BW) constraint by controlling the angular positions of the elements on the circumference of the ellipse. The synthesis is carried out using three novel evolutionary computing algorithms known as firefly algorithm (FFA), ant lion optimization (ALO) and flower pollination algorithm (FPA).The simulations are carried out in MATLAB and the results are analyzed using the produced radiation patterns.
